About the Owners
Bill and Georgia have been owner-residents in the south Skyline area since March 1996. Bill is an engineer with over 30 years of extensive technical experience in both hardware and software, including customer support and project management. He had been visiting and hiking in this area for many years before moving here.

Georgia has over 30 years of management and business administration experience primarily in the computer industry, as well as small business and non-profit entities. A lifelong hiker & camper in this region, she was raised on the Peninsula with close family ties to the Kings Mountain area of Skyline and was a volunteer at the first Kings Mountain Art Fair in 1963 at age 10.

We started Skyline Broadband Service because of our own need for high speed Internet access here in the mountains. There are challenges for metropolitan services to operate up here, because of the unattractive economics of running wires to homes that are spread over a wide area.

We researched what would be necessary to provide a reliable, affordable broadband service here in the Skyline area.

As a result of our research, we contracted with a backhaul provider for 3rd generation wireless broadband and installed our first Access Point on Black Mountain (Montebello Ridge) in Spring 2004.

Since then, we have expanded our coverage significantly.
